More than 60% Republicans support declaring USA as a Christian country.

According to a poll done by Politico and the University of Maryland, the majority of Republican voters support the creation of a national religion in the United States of America.

The poll was released on Wednesday 21.09.2022

Two crucial questions were asked in the poll.

In the first, participants were asked whether they thought the Constitution permitted an official state religion.

Republicans responded with a yes vote of 43% and a no vote of 57%.

The second question was, If they "support or oppose the United States formally declaring the United States to be a Christian nation."

 61% of Republicans said that they would and 39% said they wouldn't.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; 

or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
